Christmas Gift Wrap 2015

Hooray... Christmas has been (unfortunately it is now over for another year). One of my favourite things about the Christmas build up is wrapping all of my friends and family presents. This year I decided to go plain but very effective and cute: the classic brown paper with bows and ribbons.

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas: spending time with your family, eating too much delicious food and giving and receiving presents.

Brown paper- Wilkinsons
8 Rudolph Tags - Sainsburys (£1)

BBB Beauty: Sun-Kissed Style

Sun Kissed Style: Bronzer- Here's how to use bronzer for an instant glow

Choosing your bronzer:

For a natural tanned effect, I would recommend choosing a bronzer without added shine or any glitter. There is a huge range of shades out there so it is important that you experiment with testers until you eventually find the right one to suit your skin tone.

Which shade is the best one for me?

You need to choose a colour that's only a couple of shades deeper than your skin tone. If you have fair skin - pale and prone to sunburn - peachy or pinky bronzers work the best for you. I recommend copper for anyone with olive skin, while the rich bronze shades are perfect for darker skin tones. Definitely avoid the orange tones.

Should you consider your skin types?

When choosing your skin type you should consider what your skin type is. If it is combination, oily or normal then I suggest you go for a powder-based bronzer. Cream or gel-based products are great for drier skin types.

How should I apply bronzer?

Powder bronzers: Use a fluffy powder brush. Begin by dipping the brush into the bronzer and then tapping off the excess product onto the back of your hand. Dust the powder over the areas where you catch the sun - cheeks, forehead, chin and the bridge of your nose. Make sure you blend it in well. Build the colour up a little at a time.

Cream powder: I would recommend using your fingers to blend in creams. Dot it onto your cheeks and blend in using circular motions. Work the colour up towards your hairline Very lightly, dab any excess colour from your fingers onto the bridge of your nose, forehead and brow bones to warm the tone of your face.

DECEMBER GOALS

It's finally one of the best months of the year because... Christmas is here! *excited dance* I also find Christmas is the best time for blogging and YouTube because everyone's post are very inspiring and everyone seems to be so happy and festive - it's such a great community to be a part of.

The last couple of months I have been feeling a lack of motivation to blog and if you are subscribed to me on YouTube then you will have noticed I haven't been uploading videos, so I thought if I set myself a few goals for the last month of 2015 then I will be heading for the right track in 2016.

Instagram: @beautybybetth

December Goals

     1) Be more proactive

This side of me has been hiding a little as a lack of motivation and energy, therefore for the festive month I will: Invite my friends over. Go out to town (you don't always have to buy things). Do things I ENJOY rather than doing things to please others. Stop scrolling through social media endless amounts of time and get out and see the cute christmas markets and festive activities.

     2) Be creative every day

Whether this is taking photos for my blog, baking some christmas treats, putting photos in my scrapbook or snapping polaroids with my friends, I think having some creativity each day is the secret to keep your inspiration and motivation.

     3) Spoil my family with Christmas Presents

Although I don't work because of my age, it doesn't mean I can't buy them anything at all. Even if mum doesn't get her designer bag and dad doesn't get his TV, I can still afford cheap presents which they will love as much as the more expensive presents (well maybe they'd prefer a TV but...)

     4) Buy a christmas cup

Honestly, I am a typical white girl when it comes to them costa christmas cups.

What's your December goal this year?

Thank you so much reading, I hope you all have the best Christmas.
I will see you Sunday with another post.

BBB Beauty: How To Apply The Perfect Blusher

There's three different girls with blusher: The girls who go for drama, the girls who prefer a natural glow and them who don't wear any. Either way it's important to find the right shade for your skin tone.

The Perfect Blush Shade:

Fair Skin: Rosy Pinks

Dark Skin: Bright Pinks and Reds

Perfect The Basics:
  1. Start off with looking in the mirror and smiling! This will cause the apples of your cheeks to stick out and it then gives you the perfect point to start your application.
  2. Using a large, round blusher brush for powder or fingertips for a cream or tint, dust or dab the blusher on to the apples, then blend along your cheekbones.
  3. Less is more so try to keep it subtle. If you want it more defined then try and build it up gradually. If you do overdo it, try and use a face powder to down it down, you might need to cleanse and start again! But remember practise makes perfect!
Which Formula Should I Use?

Well, this depends on two things: your skin type and what you find easier to apply. Different blushers need different applications and tools, while you may be a disaster at tint, you might be fantastic at powder! Test out as many as you can before you finalise it.

Tint or powder: Great for oily and combination skin types.
Cream: Brilliant on dry skin and normal skin.

Looks To Avoid:
  • THE DOLL FACE When applying blusher to the apples of your cheeks, remember not to go OTT! Two perfect circle is not the look you want.
  • THE TIGER STRIPE Regardless of which shade and formula you choose, make sure you blend it well. Blusher is about adding a healthy glow to your cheeks or defining them cheekbones, not painting a stripe down the side of your face.
  • RED FACE: Who wants to go out looking like a tomato? No-one! You want to look cute and girly, not like you've got a cringe on!

The next BBB Beauty is going to be: Sun-Kissed Style.

USE OF VASELINE

Everyone has to love Vaseline, don't they? Many people believe it's just for moisturising and smoothing down your skin, however there are many more ways to benefit from this little pot.

1. Use in place of shaving cream

2. Keeps your cuticles soft

3. Soothes your skin after shaving

4. Moisturises your chapped hands

5. Tame unruly eyebrows

6. Keeps your lipstick off your teeth

7. Makes your eyeshadow last that extra bit longer

8. Use it with blush for an easier application

9. Glossy lips

10. Slick back your wispy hairs

11. Makes your perfume last longer

12. Lengths and thickens your eyelashes.

13. Perfect for chapped lips

14. Highlight your cheekbones

15. Stops squeaky doors and windows

16. Removes rings

I hope you found this post useful, because I certainly did whilst I was writing it.

BBB Beauty: Perfect That Powder

When it comes to powder we all know it is our complexion hero - but which type is best for you and what's the most suitable way of applying it?

Loose Powder

- I find loose powder a great setting for your base when you first do your make-up. It helps     the face products last and it keeps the need for touch-ups to a minimum.

- There are two ways of applying loose powder.

     1. Dip a large, soft, round brush into the product and tap it onto the side of the pan, therefore it won't be overloaded, then sweep it over your face.

Or you can...

     2. Dab a powder puff into it, pat it gently onto your face and then dust off any excess powder. This will give a more heavier, more matte effect.

Pressed Powder

- This is the perfect powder for on-the-go, a compact will fit into your makeup bag very easy. Pressed powder is also less messy than loose powder, so if you are new to the makeup world or even a tad clumsy, then pressed will be better for you.

- I suggest you opt for a shine-control pressed powder if your skin type is particularly oily. Most pressed powders contain a blend of oil-absorbing ingredients, therefore it helps to keep those shiny patches away.

- I would recommend you use a powder brush for the application, although some compacts will come with a sponge, they can give an uneven finish.

All types of powder can clog up your pores, so why not minimise the amount you need by using blotting sheet throughout the day to soak up the grease (gross I know).

Although most people say that you should clean your makeup brushes once a month, I tend to clean my powder brush every two weeks with warm water and a drop of baby shampoo.

One Shade, Six Dupes

If you have been reading my blog since I started it, then you should be aware that I am a massive junky for nail polishes and I am a obsessive hoarder. As my collection starting growing even more, with my nail polish collection starting reaching the hundreds mark, that's when I realised I was crazy with the amount I was spending on nail varnishes over the months which all looked similar shades to each other.

One weekend, last month I decided to have a huge clear out and get rid of the ones I barely used, the ones I had no product left in the bottle and the ones which were the exact same colour as the other brand. The ones I decided not to have in my collection anymore, I put in a massive carry bag and gave them to friends and my little cousin.

I have soon come to realise, is there any point in buying 10 bottles of nail varnishes which all look the same shade but just different brands?

Pastel Pinks:

- Miss Sporty Lasting Colour Nail Polish- No Shade

- Barry M Gelly 'Dragon Fruit' Nail Polish

- Accessorize Nail Polish- No Shade

- Ciate Mini Polish- Amazing Gracie

- Rimmel Rita Ora '270 Sweet Retreat' Nail Polish

- O.P.I Nail Lacquer 'Sweet Retreat'

If you liked this post then I will be happy to do it again, with a different colour.

BBB Beauty: Guide To Perfect Skin

It's Beth here and I am starting a new series over here on my blog called BBB Beauty. Every other Sunday I am going to be posting a blog post about a certain beauty product, telling you how you should use it, the best for your skin types, etc...

The first BBB Beauty is the guide to perfect skin and everyone loves when their skin is feeling lovely and today this post is going to be telling you how you can make your skin feel amazing.

Tip one: Make a commitment to care for your skin. Every night before bed, cleanse your face in order to remove the day's grime and makeup. Wash your hands before and squeeze a 2p sized blob of cleanser into the palm of your hand. Take the blob and massage it onto your face using circular movements. Avoid your mouth and eyes. Make sure you don't keep the cleanser to soak into your skin, so whisk it off with a cotton wool pad.

Tip two: Time for toner - soak a generous amount into a cotton wool pad and smoothly rub over your face. This will remove any dirt and close your pores to any more dirt from entering your skin. It's a good idea to repeat this step with another pad until no dirt shows up. You'll need to tone after exfoliating and using a face mask.

Tip three: If you cleanse properly at night, all you'll need to do in the morning is freshen up your skin. I would recommend using a face wash - it'll give you a clean, glowing feel and liven up how you look.

Tip four: Moisturising your skin at day and night is important if you want to stay away from dry patches and keep your skin hydrate. If you have oily or combination skin then I would suggest you try a mattifying moisturiser.

Tip five: For smoother fresher-feeling skin, you'll need to exfoilate at least twice a week. First, start of cleansing so your skin is squeaky clean. Next wet your face down and then squirt a blob of exfoliator onto your fingers and gently massage into your skin and then flick off with luke warm water. Concentrate on your T-Zone - nose, chin and forehead.

Tip six: A mini pamper session once a week will keep you looking and feeling great. Facemasks are great for balancing the oils in your skin and drying out any spots. Cleanse before you apply yours and leave it for 10-15 minutes, depending on what it says on the packaging. Once the time is up, wash off throughly using warm water.

The next BBB Beauty is going to be: Perfect That Powder.

Guilty Pleasures

I am pretty sure I am not the only one who has many guilty pleasures - the things which we are all embarrassed to admit we like or what we secretly do.

Trashy TV: I have been obsessed with TOWIE from Day 1

Falling in love with them £700 pair of shoes you can not afford to buy or the £10,000 dress.

The Hannah Montana movie, anyone else with me on this one?

Reading the Daily Mail showbiz section just to snoop at the news of the Kardashians.

People watching in an restaurant

Singing your heart out to Shawn Mendes in the shower

Long, hot showers till the point your skin looks like it has aged 70 years+

Being home alone and running round the house singing and dancing to One Directions album's like you're front row at the concert

Starting to creep on the Christmas songs at the start of October

Reading After (Harry Styles fanfiction) over and over again

Four full hours of the Upper East Side sauciness.

What are your three guilty pleasures?

3 TV Series You Need To Watch

Pretty Little Liars

This is the first thing I watched on Netflix and the first thing you NEED to watch on there! This post wouldn't be complete without the mention of PLL. I have never been so obsessed with a TV series than I have with this! I can't even describe how I feel when a new season comes on, I love it so much. 50% of mine and Georgina's school conversations are about PLL and it's great.

Gossip Girl

Just like me, if you're a sucker for them girly-girl films, with dream bedrooms, NYC shopping and all the makeup then Gossip Girl is the one for you. If you take away the spookiness of Pretty Little Liars then the storyline is very similar to Gossip Girl - with the anonymous person going around. I am not ashamed to say I watched the whole 6 seasons within 3 weeks, and the ending still gets to me because it's the cutest thing.
xoxo gossip girl

90210

Into them high school, teenager relationships shows? This is your TV series! This is what I am currently watching at the moment while I wait until January for PLL to start again, and I haven't watched them all yet, as I am only on season four but this is definitely a must watch if you love the two above.

5 Easy Tips For Saving Money

1. Create a savings account.
One of the first things you should consider when you start saving money is to set up a separate bank account which is different to one you use on a daily basis. Everyone's experienced that one purchase which was completely unnecessary, and it was bought because of that £20 lying around in your bank account. Another mini bank account you can have at home is a can or pot where you put loose change and after a couple of months you can take it to your local supermarket and get it changed - it soon adds up.

2. Set a monthly budget.
Last year I used to set myself a £15 budget for each month, tbh with me that didn't work because being a beauty guru that's not really a reasonable amount because there's little products you can get for £15, especially if you're hooked on high end products. If you do this then make sure you consider a reasonable amount which allows you to buy enough things but doesn't allow too much money to slip out your bank.

3. You've got a best friend called DIY.
DIY everything... well most things. This saves so much money over the months, if you opt for cheap things and then decorate them yourself with washy tape, pens and stickers which definitely works out cheaper than buying a new product. It's way fun starting from scratch as well, so best of both worlds.

4. Look out for coupons, deals and vouchers.
Download voucher apps, google them, etc... There's so many vouchers which are always going around which can save you minimum £10 a month!

5. Clear out old things.
This is something which is hard if you're anything like me - a hoarder! I can't just sell things straight away, I debate it for months and then finally put it back to place or finally give in and Depop it (beautybybeth on Depop). There's many websites and shops which allow you to sell items, so there's no reason not to sell something which you don't use anymore.

How To: Stay On Top Of Tasks, Blogging and Youtube

It's Beth here and the summer holidays are officially over - which means more work. Unfortunately, it's time to get that piece of paper in your planner covered in homework which we need to do for the following week, along with filming, editing and uploading videos, making sure our blogs are up to scratch and the best they can be, and the main thing having some time to chill and socialise with our favourites.

My number one tip for all of you sitting GCSE's in this upcoming year is to stay organised and don't let everything hide away in your drawers until the night before the due date.

We've all got a lot of things which need doing every day, however there just aren't enough hours in a day to achieve them, therefore I've found things which help keep me on track.

I can not stress enough how much calendars and to do lists are useful. Whether it's a to do list on your phone, paper or laptop - it is a perfect way of making sure everything you need to do gets done. Personally I like the old school way and having all of my jobs on paper. My to-do lists are my best friends because I'm a sucker for putting pen to paper. Something which I should do is prioritise the most important tasks and put the at the top of the list. You can then easily see what you need to do before getting distracted by something more entertaining.

If you prefer a more technical one, a perfect app is Any.Do, your to-do list can also be seen on your computer. It's easy to use, easy to read and easy to get your job's done!
A bad habit which I have is that I want everything done at the same time and all at once, but that can never happen. I never think about waiting to do the least important last, until I am overloaded with things to do. Like I said I don't prioritise my work, which is bad because I don't benefit from it and it makes me very, very stressed!

Something which I always tell myself is that "I can't do this because I don't have enough time". But really I do... I just need to use it wisely. No matter how much we want the days to slow down, they never will and not another hour will be added, so we have to deal with it and make the most of what time we do have.

What's your most preferred way of doing to-do lists?

Thank you so much for reading, see you next Wednesday.

Forever Repurchases

MAC Please Me Lipstick
My obsession with this lipstick began the first day I got it and a year later it is still number one on my list. I've been through so many pink lipsticks but this is still there top at number 1. I don't even know what my makeup collection was without this lipstick.

Maybelline Lash Sensational
This mascara is my new love. To be honest with you beauty gurus I don't think you're going to get any better than this!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Say no more. I'm just going to skip a massive paragraph telling you how amazing this is because everyone has heard at least 19325 people talk about this.

Prada Candy L'eau
I can't get over how gorgeous this scent is. If I had to choose the fragrance for a bottle, it would be this one right here. It's the nicest smell ever!

Maybelline Colour Tattoo On And On Bronze
I don't know how my eyes would cope without this beauty. This is by far my favourite single eyeshadow and if you haven't had this in your collection at some point, then you don't know what you're missing!

LUSH Fresh Face Mask: Cupcake

My last one I picked up expired whilst I was on holiday and the first thing I had to do when I went to town was to pick one of these up. My skin felt like it was in rubbish condition and my spots started coming out again, this week while I've been using Cupcake, the spots have seemed to shrink and lose their colour (meaning going away and losing the redness). I love it so much and it's definitely one of my holy grail skin care products.
