MAC Captive Lipstick: Review & Swatches

MAC's Captive lipstick is a Satin formula - to me I find Satin formulas in between matte and lustre because they can sometimes be quite drying however they are creamy when you apply them and they easily glide onto your lips with an easy application. As a result of the drying quality, the lipstick is ever-so pigmented, leaving your lips looking amazing with the perfect textured layer.

I love the shade of this lipstick as its the perfect shade for winter. If you are fed up with a classic red because of the Christmas season but you still want something quite vibrant, this is a must-have for you. My favourite thing with this is that you can tone it down for a more subtle look for an everyday lipstick, on the other hand you can layer it up to create a vibrant bright lip look. When I apply this to my lips, it really does enhance them and if you've gone for a minimal, effortless makeup look, then this lipstick will add so much to your face, making it seem as if you've spent hours on it.

Captive is perfect for a night out or a meal because even after you've been drinking and eating burgers, your lips will still look like you've applied your lipstick two minutes ago... the purple berry shade will last on your lips for a good five hours at least before the intensity will start wearing away.

If you're looking for a perfect purple lipstick, I would 100% recommend this as you're paying £15.50 for an amazing quality bullet.

What is your go-to MAC lipstick?

Thank you so much for reading, see you soon.

Love, B.B.B x
