A Look Into January | 2016

For me January is pretty much always the same and it's a tough one to know whether I enjoy it or find it boring - January is a month where I don't plan things because you're coming into the new year catching up on thoughts and reflecting on the previous 12 months. Therefore, not much has happened throughout this year, but I thought I'd share with you the mini things which have occurred. I can not believe this month has gone already... THAT IS CRAZY!

- I started the year of by going to an amazing ice parlour in Totton with my nan and brother and it was delicious! I had a chocolate waffle which was covered with all that good chocolatey stuff (hence the name).

- As it is January it results in going back to school, so obviously that happened along with every teacher mentioning exams and revision and all the boring dreadful stuff.

- Obviously this blog post would not be complete without a mention about Pretty Little Liars Season 6B. OH MY... the storyline is getting so interesting and making all the accusations and theories come back, while you have to wait in between each week for the new episode to come onto Netflix.

- Recently I took a trip to Bournemouth with my best friend for a little winter walk and a browse around the shops. I had a lovely day and it was very chilled walking along the beach. We also ate too much that day as we decided to have our first ever Wagamamas and then also visited Sprinkles in the evening and I had another waffle for January (greedy I know).

- The last week of January has been a tad hectic in school. I have had exams pretty much every day: science ISA's, science end of topic tests, geography case studies, spanish speaking assessment, walking talking english mock, non calculator maths assessment - basically everything this month has been exams, exams, exams and I only know it's going to get a lot more crazier.

I hope you all have had a great start of the year this month and got lots planned for the upcoming months and chilled if you've been busy kick-starting your plans already.

What's your favourite thing you've done this month?

Thank you so much for reading, see you soon.

MAC Lipstick Collection

You seriously can not beat a MAC lipstick, are you with me on this one?

MAC lipsticks are the best ones which are out in the beauty world which I have ever tried. I only have eight but I am very happy with most of the shades which I have picked up. The quality is absolutely amazing and the do the most amazing shades... plus they smell gorgeous, that's a bonus isn't it?

I always tend to buy mine in John Lewis because where I live there isn't a MAC store so that is the only cheapest option, otherwise online I would have to pay for shipping and the shades aren't always accurate, etc. They cost £15.50 each, which I don't consider cheap but they are stupidly priced because you do get what you pay for.

Watch my video here: I will link it here when it has uploaded

Cremesheen

Kinda Sexy

Please Me

Captive

Lovelorn

Viva Glam II

Vegas Volt

Velvet Teddy

1. Peach Blossom

Peach Blossom was my first ever MAC lipstick which I owned and it is currently remaining one of my favourites after around two years. The finish of this lipstick is Cremesheen, so it gives a glossy finish which I love for the summer time. As Peach Blossom is a cremesheen - as the name suggests it is a creamy formula, therefore the lipstick is very hydrating on your lips.

2. Please Me

This is within my top three favourite MAC lipsticks and it is Please Me. I love the shade of it for summer and if you prefer nudes and pinks instead of dark berry's etc for the winter time, this would be perfect for you. The finish is matte so it is very long wearing which I love.

3. Love Lorn

Love lorn is one which I tend to opt out of wearing if I am going out for the day and I won't have time to top up the lips because the finish is Lustre - Lustre is similar to cremesheen's however these are less opaque, which means the don't last a long time at all, especially if you are eating and drinking. The colour of this lipstick is amazing as it has a slight gloss tint to it, which makes it special to me.

4. Viva Glam II

When I first bought this lipstick, it kept quiet at the back of my lipstick holder because I always preferred my other shades, however now this has been a massive hit for me. As it's winter, I've been wearing a lot of burgundy, therefore with burgundy you need to be careful with your makeup look, and when I was experimenting with the lipstick colour, I found that this was the perfect match - and now I am totally obsessed. Satin is the finish of this lipstick.

5. Kinda Sexy

This is probably the second unworn (have I made that word up?) lipstick which I own from MAC. This is an orange/brown shade which is a matte finish. I find this colour is gorgeous however I hardly wear it because I don't find it suits me.

6. Velvet Teddy

You have probably heard EVERYONE talk about this so let's keep it short. The finish is Matte and AMAZING.

7. Vegas Volt

Out of all eight of my MAC lipsticks, Vegas Volt has got to be my least worn one. The finish of this lipstick is amplified which is the reason why it is very bright and quite difficult to apply. If you have been reading my blog for a while now then you'll know that my preferred lip colour is pale pinks and nudes, so this is a question to why I actually wanted this shade.

8. Captive

This colour - captive!! Captive has been my most recent lipstick into my collection and it has crept up to the top of my favourites list. The finish of this lipstick is Satin which isn't my favourite one, however I was shocked with how well the result turned out.

Which are you top three favourite MAC lipsticks?

Thank you so much for watching, see you next soon.

10 Ways To Make 2016 The Best

Boohoo Ripped Jeans and Pandora Daisy Ring

Tidy and clear out your room

Write down all your goals you want to achieve

I find writing down all the things you would like complete, gives you that extra boost and actually makes you achieve them.

Improve your diet

After Christmas and with summer arriving, the best time to improve your diet is in January. You don't necessarily have to go on a diet, all you simply have to do is cut down on junk food and eat one - five pieces of fruit per day.

Make a fitness goal and plan

Take photos often to look back on

Over this year you will create some many amazing memories, and the worst thing to do is not to capture them to look back on.

Use a 2016 planner

Organisation this year is key. And what a better way than to use a planner to keep you on track and up to date.

Take time for yourself

In 2016 you could become so involved with school work, work and even amazing plans that you don't spend time on you own and this is important to make sure you relax and chill.

Snapchat memories and fill a memory jar

This year I have created a snapchat account and every day (or every good thing) you send it to your new 2016 account and at the end of the year you will go onto snapchat and re-watch your 2016.

Take breaks from your phone and your laptop

Drink a lot more water

How are you going to make 2016 the best?

Thank you so much for reading, see you soon.

The 2016 Ambitions

Happy New Year Everyone!

Another year is upon us and I have a feeling this year is going to be awesome. Each year everyone sets themselves new years resolutions which are never actually achieved. This year I decided to come up with some ambitions for me to do throughout 2016 which are slightly different to normal.

Instagram- @beautybybetth

1. TRAVEL

Travelling for me is one of my favourite things to do, it is amazing. My bucket lists main goal is for me to travel - and I am very fortunate to be able to go abroad once every year and every couple of months me and my friends will get on a train and visit a new city and places.

In 2016 my family and friends and I have planned some very exciting trips for this year. I am very grateful as my family booked two weeks in Spain for August and in April we are planning Amsterdam with our friends. Me and my best friend, Ashleigh, have also planned the new cities we would wish to visit this year to top of the amazing travelling we are having the opportunities to go on.

2. DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY

One of the hardest things for me is ignoring what people think of me and letting it get to me. I find it extremely hard to ignore them and I'm always panicking with things people might be thinking. It is horrible because it does ruin what makes you happy and doing the things you that you really enjoy.

This year I am determined to block out the people who make negative comments and I will continue to enjoy doing the things which make me happy. I am extremely happy to have friends around me who keep me motivated (Georgina). Everyday I follow these two quotes and it helps me a lot:

"Do what makes you happy"
"Not everyone will like what you choose to do"

NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS

  1. Keep working out ready for the summer.
  2. Use heat protectors on my hair with cold water in the shower.
  3. Upload on my YouTube at least twice a month.
  4. Find a job in May (my birthday)
  5. Cut out on the chocolate and eat my fruits

I hope you all had an amazing 2015 and 2016 is going to be even more better!
Wishing you all a happy and healthy year and I will see you very soon.
